Dr. Merry Gindorf graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Biology, and concentrations in Chemistry and Mathematics. She went on to a Masters in Visual Sciences from Illinois College of Optometry and completed her Doctorate in Optometry, graduating with honors. Dr. Gindorf was recognized for her exceptional research and clinical work at the College and was given the Faculty Memorial Award to honor an outstanding student clinician and researcher. After acceptance to the Residency Program at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Topeka, Kansas, Dr. Gindorf started her private practice.
Dr. Gindorf specializes in advanced contact lens fitting, adult and children reading difficulties, whether secondary to sub- optimal visual capability or perceptual deficiencies.
Dr. Gindorf has held board positions in her community with the AYSO, PTA Board and District Foresight Committee, working the Arts Program and designing and overseeing the funding and installation of a teaching garden and additional outdoor classroom/theatre. Dr. Gindorf is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry
